Land Rover D90
My Defender won't start. I get power, the battery is good. But when I turn the ignition, it's not turning over. I just get a click, click, click. I've checked the plugs and none are loose. I've traced the wires from the starter and they appear to be attached. Any ideas?

Try jump starting it... but if you are getting the click, click, click... I would say battery.

Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU. Secondly never swap ECUs between vehicles to test them, because both vehicles and ECUs may stop working, and you'll have to have them all reset by a franchised LR dealer (ouch!). First thing I did was jump it. Battery is good. I'm going to change out the starter motor and hope that's it. Ordered the part and will respond back after I've given it a whirl. Never changed a starter before... hope it's not too comlex.

Changing starter isn't hard... but if you just got a click... and the battery is good... then I would say starter as well... that sucks... sorry to hear it.

Did you carefully check all of your grounds between the battery and starter?
